Cab Driver Shot With Pellet Gun During Robbery In Charlestown
BOSTON (CBS) - A cab driver was shot with a pellet gun in Charlestown on Sunday. The robbers ordered the driver to empty his pockets, but he fought back.
Michele Gelin was held up by two men who said they were going to bring flowers to their mother on Mother's Day.
"I felt the hand on my shoulders, I turn over, when I turn over when I saw the gun in my face," says Gelin. "He said you have to give me everything in your pocket."
The father of eight says he brought the two men from Somerville to Charlestown and when he dropped them off on Devens Street, their credit cards didn't work. Then they pulled out a gun and demanded his cash.
They got out of the cab and Gelin felt shots hit his arm and chest.
A neighbor saw the commotion and called 911. One of the suspects then took off in the cab, but didn't get far before he crashed it right down the street.
Sean Hickey of East Boston, who went back to grab the flowers, was found cowering behind a car nearby.
Boston Police found Brian Cunneen of Lowell in Charlestown too.
