Buy Or Sell: Red Sox Should Trade Dustin Pedroia
BOSTON (CBS) - It was a "Buy or Sell" Monday night on The Adam Jones Show's Game of Jones!
Rich Keefe hit Jones with the following topics around the league:
- Buy or Sell Vikings quarterback Matt Cassel as the worst starting QB in Week 2:
"I'll buy that, but there are quarterbacks I like just as little as Cassel. Brian Hoyer played well in that comeback, but maybe I'm just more down on him than most. Drew Stanton started for Arizona. He's pretty awful. Cassel was statistically the worst so I'll buy it. I think he's a backup quarterback," said Jones.
- Buy or Sell the Red Sox should try and trade 2B Dustin Pedroia:
"I sell that. I get that Mookie Betts is playing well, but it's September. In some cases you're going up against teams that are out of the playoff race. You're also going up against Quadruple-A pitching in some cases. There's expanded rosters. It's easier to hit. I'm not saying Betts won't play well, but I'm not ready to move Dustin Pedroia in a deal to clear the way for Mookie Betts," said Jones.
- Buy or Sell the Buffalo Bills winning at least 8 games this season:
"I'm gonna buy it. I don't think it'll be much above 8. I certainly don't think they'll win the division. But I'm gonna buy they can get to .500. I like the weapons they have there, but I don't like the quarterback very much. Their defensive line is legit. I think their defense is decent. It comes down to E.J. Manuel and what he can do," said Jones.
- Buy or Sell Nuggets PF Kenneth Faried getting a max contract:
"I sell it. I know he had a good FIBA World Cup tournament. I didn't watch any of the games, but reading some of the coverage and watching some of the highlights I'm gonna sell it. He's not a max-deal player," said Jones.
- Buy or Sell Boston College's upset win over USC as their best win in 20 years:
"I sell that. I still think back to Matt Ryan beating Virginia Tech. That was in Blacksburg if I'm not mistaken. They were a top 10 team that year. I'm happy to see BC won -- they were huge underdogs -- but I'm not gonna go overboard and say that was a better win, or more meaningful win over the Hokies with Matt Ryan," said Jones. "It's been a long time since we talked Boston College football in this city. I hope they keep it up under Steve Addazio."
