Buy Or Sell? Pablo Sandoval Should Give Up Switch Hitting
BOSTON (CBS) - It was a Buy Or Sell Monday night on The Adam Jones Show's Game Of Jones!
Adam Jones answered the questions while Rich Keefe moderated the segment.
Here are the questions:
Buy Or Sell? LeBron James Should Finish No Better Than Fifth For NBA MVP
Jones: I think fifth is about right. I would sell it because I would probably put him ahead of Anthony Davis, but Davis is right there. I would put LeBron slightly ahead. I think it's clear Russell Westbrook had a better year, and then you get to the two real MVP candidates in Steph Curry and James Harden. Curry would win it for me. Maybe I would put LeBron fourth and Davis fifth.
Buy Or Sell? Tim Tebow Will Be On The Eagles' Week 1 Roster
Jones: I buy it. Chip Kelly does not care what anyone thinks. I love it. Neither does Bill Belichick, by the way, who also coincidentally brought in Tim Tebow. I think when you look at that Eagles depth chart Tebow can be something for you in a more versatile role of tight end, third quarterback, punt protector, whatever. I think Chip Kelly is stubborn enough to have him there for a reason. I think he'll be there Week 1. That's not to say he'll play or anything.
Buy Or Sell? The Titans Trading Their No. 2 Overall Draft Pick For A Veteran Quarterback
Jones: Oh I buy that. I don't know if it's going to be Jay Cutler, Philip Rivers, whoever. If I'm the Titans, that's the whole upside of trading out. The whole upside is bringing in somebody to help you compete now. I think there's way too much smoke around Philip Rivers and San Diego. I'd love to see the Chargers move all the way up the board. I actually think Marcus Mariota would be a good fit in San Diego or Los Angeles, wherever they end up. That's one trade I'd love to see go down.
Buy Or Sell? Pablo Sandoval Should Give Up Switch Hitting
Note: Pablo Sandoval is 0-for-13 as a right-handed batter in 2015. Last year he was .200 even from the right side.
Jones: I looked at last year and thought it was just a one-year aberration. But it turns out Sandoval hits about 40 points lower for his career against left-handed pitching than he does against right-handed pitching. I'm not saying he's going to, but I buy that he should give up switch hitting. If you can't hit from one side of the plate, then just give it up, move to the other and hit exclusively left-handed. I buy that. I think that's a good idea.
Buy Or Sell? Spurs Will Lose Repeat Bid At NBA Title & Lose In First Round
Jones: I sell that. They did not look good against the Clippers Sunday night, but the Spurs have been red hot the last couple weeks of the season. I thought the Spurs would win that series and just because they lost Game 1 I'm not moving off them yet.
