Business Headlines: Local Home Prices Dropping; Gas Prices Lower
BOSTON (CBS) - Local home prices continue to lose ground and now are tied more closely to a national trend indicating the housing decline might be getting worse.
According to a home pricing index by core-logic, home prices in greater Boston fell 4.4 percent in September compared to September 2010.
That's pretty close to the national rate, which was 4.1 percent.
GAS PRICES LOWER
But, this is good news for consumers, gas prices are down again and haven't been this low since March.
The average price for a gallon of unleaded was $3.39, down a penny from a week ago.
Still though, at this time last year, a gallon averaged $2.82, so we have a long way to go.
