Buchholz Start Pushed Back Again, Red Sox Targeting Tuesday Return
BOSTON (CBS) - Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz will have his next start pushed back once again, and will not take the mound in Sunday's finale of a four-game set with the Orioles in Baltimore.
Buchholz, who was originally scheduled to start on Friday, was pushed back after experiencing a sore trapezius muscle in last Saturday's win over the Angels. Boston manager John Farrell said Thursday that Buchholz experienced "slight improvements" with the injury, but will get an extra couple days off to see if the discomfort goes away.
Farrell and the Red Sox are hoping Buchholz will be good to go on Tuesday when they have a double-header against the Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway.

"There's still some soreness in that neck muscle, the base of the muscle, but everything in the AC joint is free and clear. But as we stated before, we're going to make sure he's not out there until there are no symptoms felt," Farrell told reporters on Thursday. "So we're targeting Tuesday."
Baseball Reporters: Do The Red Sox Rely On Buchholz Too Much?
The Sox manager did say that while the team is hopeful two more days will do the trick, they will not throw Buchholz -- who is 9-0 with an ML-leading 1.71 ERA this season -- out there until he is 100-percent.
Jon Lester will get the start on Sunday in place of Buchholz.
