Brush Fire Threatens Homes In Douglas
DOUGLAS (CBS) - A brush fire was burning dangerously close to some homes in Douglas Monday afternoon.
Smoke could be seen all around the neighborhood near Eagle Drive. The fire, which burned for about an hour, caused six homes to be evacuated.
Firefighters say strong winds made the fire hard to fight.
Douglas Deputy Fire Chief John Furno says a shed and some picnic tables were lost, but no homes were damaged.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Firefighters are staying on scene to make sure the fire doesn't flare up again.
