Seguin Named NHL's First Star

BOSTON (CBS) – After an impressive week on the ice, Boston Bruins forward Tyler Seguin has been named the NHL's First Star of the Week

"It's pretty cool. Obviously never happened to me before, and I feel pretty good about it," Seguin said at the Bruins morning skate on Monday.

In three games during the week, the 19-year-old scored four goals and had two assists. He also finished a plus-4 as the Bruins won all three of their contests. Seguin currently has a four-game goal streak going, and has at least one point in six straight games.

Seguin's 11 goals lead the Bruins and is good for second in the NHL. He also leads the team with 20 points and is tops in the NHL in plus/minus  with a  plus-14.

But Seguin made sure to give his teammates a lot of the credit when it comes to his success.

"This star of the week, you could have given it to many guys on our team," said Seguin. "It's been a whole team effort so far. Obviously my line mates, last game both my goals I didn't do too much on them. I really was just in the right spot, receiving great passes."

The second year forward has already matched his total goal output from all of last season in just 15 games.

The Boston Bruins Foundation will make a $1,000 donation to the children's charity of Seguin's choice.
