Bruins Thornton Talks Flyers, Bryzgalov 'A Different Bird'
BOSTON (CBS) – Boston Bruins forward Shawn Thornton called in to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher and Rich Friday morning as he and other players headed to practice.
Boston has had to claw for their last two wins, allowing 40+ shots against the Los Angeles Kings and Ottawa Senators. Without Zdeno Chara, things have not been pretty, but each game has ended with two points in the standings.
"A win is a win; we're finding a way which is important," said Thornton. "We know we can get better and we're still getting the W's. We'll work on some things today that coach wasn't happy about and focus on playing a better game tomorrow. It's a pretty big one against a pretty good team. We have a pretty big one tomorrow against a pretty big team tomorrow."

The Bruins head to Philadelphia for a matinée, a big Eastern Conference matchup. But Thornton and the Bruins are going to take it as just another regular season matchup.
"Just another regular season game. They're a team ahead of us so we want to catch them in the standings," said Thornton.
Kalman: A New Era Of Bruins Hockey?
Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov has been solid this season, going 14-5-2 and allowing just an average of 2.75 goals per game, but his appearance on HBO's 24/7 has been stealing the attention as of late. Bryzgalov took some time to talk about the universe on this week's episode, giving a look into what is going on inside the netminders head.
Thornton knows from first-hand experience, playing with Bryzgalov during his days in Anahiem.
"He's a little bit of a different bird," said Thornton. "He's a nice guy, but he's definitely cut from a different cloth from myself."
