Bruins Thomas Enjoys Day With Cup In Michigan
BOSTON (CBS) – Boston Bruins netminder Tim Thomas had his day with the Stanley Cup on Tuesday, bringing it home to Flint, Michigan.
Heading back to where it all started was a great feeling for the champion goaltender.
"I saw people that I worked at Domino's pizza with, delivering pizzas. I saw people that I played softball with that were friends. It was great," Thomas said at from the Davison High School field, the high school he attended.
According to the New York Times, nearly 2,500 people attended the visit, almost half the population of the town.

From the Boston parade to all the fanfare that has followed, Thomas admits he did not expect so much attention.
"To be honest, it's been overwhelming," he said with a smile. "The whole summer. People's response to us winning the cup and me winning the cup; I don't think I mentally prepared or thought of the reaction that would come afterward. I was too busy doing it."
The Stanley Cup was not alone on the display table. Thomas also brought his Conn Smythe award and Vezina Trophy. The 37-year-old had a record-setting .938 save percentage during the regular season, and led the B's to their first Stanley Cup title since 1972 with four playoff shutouts.

Thomas gets an additional day with the cup, and will bring it to Vermont in early September.
