Bruins Thomas, Daughter Soak In Stanley Cup

BOSTON (CBS) – Tim Thomas has done it all for the Boston Bruins this postseason, and has stepped it up in the Stanley Cup Finals.

His 701 saves in the Stanley Cup Playoffs are the second most in NHL history.

But tell Thomas any of that, and he is just as humble as ever.

"My job is to stop the puck right," Thomas asked WBZ-TV's Steve Burton as they made their way through the TD Garden. "I'm just doing the best I can to win that Stanley Cup."

The Bruins are back in Vancouver for Friday night's Game 5 with the series all tied up at two games apiece. The Bruins won Games 3 and 4 in convincing fashion, outscoring the Canucks 12-1. But now that the series shifts back to the Great Northwest, the B's are expecting some more fight in their Western Conference adversaries.

"It's going to be a whole new challenge. I don't think momentum carries over that much," said Thomas. "It does to a certain extent in the playoffs, but you have to be ready to put in the work and do it."

Before leaving, Thomas' 10-year old daughter Kiley ran over to see her father. Kiley, who Thomas said was 10-going-on-16, is a goaltender as well.

"I'm incredibly proud. She changed to goalie this year and she is a pretty good goalie in her own right," he said of his eldest daughter.

"So excited," Kiley said about watching her father in the Stanley Cup.

She said she enjoys watching the games, "but I bite my nails off."

She also gives her father a message before each game.

"Hyvää onnea, which means 'good luck' in Finish," he said with a big smile on her face.
