Bruins Thomas 3-0 Career vs Canucks, But That 'Has No Relevance'
BOSTON (CBS) – Bruins goalie Tim Thomas has some pretty impressive career numbers against the Vancouver Canucks, but he is not putting too much stock in his past success.
"It really has no relevance," Thomas said of his 3-0 career record against the Canucks, who the Bruins will take on for the Stanley Cup starting Wednesday night. "It's kind of like, why did I have so much success against Ottawa, Philadelphia in Philadelphia. There's no rhyme or reason to it, it just happens to be the way it's worked out."
"There is no use dwelling on the success you've had before," he continued. "What success you can have moving forward here over the next seven games is what's going to be important"

Of Thomas' three wins over Vancouver, two came by way of the shutout. In his 180 minutes against the Canucks, Thomas has only allowed one goal, stopping 97 of 98 shots.

The one goal came in Boston's 3-1 win in February. Thomas allowed a first period goal, but stopped 21 straight en route to the victory.
Still, those games will mean little confidence-wise come Wednesday night.
"I just haven't thought about it that much," Thomas said of any confidence stemming from February's win. "I've played against this team this year once. The other two times I played against Vancouver it's not even worth comparing. They were a different team and we were a different team."

"I know the one game we won; it wasn't an easy game," he said of the 3-1 win. "It was a very tight game. You can take a little bit of confidence that you won that one game, but it only goes so far."
