Bruins Playoff Run A Huge Boost To Boston Businesses
Each game represents $2.5 Million in spending impact for the Boston visitor industry, according to President and CEO of the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau Pat Moscarotolo.
"Because of the strike-shortened season, a lot of those businesses lost out," says Moscarotolo.
Despite being a Bruins fan, he wouldn't hate to see the B's take out the Pens in 6. It would help everything from restaurants and hotels, to city services and tax revenues.
If the Bruins get to the next round, the ante is upped even more.
"We all know the Stanley Cup is made of silver, but for the visitor industry it's really pure gold," says Moscarotolo.
In fact, the spending impact if the Bruins make it to the Cup Finals is $5 Million a game. Also taken into account is the media coverage from all across the globe, and the coverage being "beamed into Canada."
Moscarotolo also points out all of the media members and NHL marketing partners who will plan to spend money while they are in the city.
