Bruins Not Getting Down After Pair Of Losses
BOSTON (CBS) – After getting points in 15 straight games, the Boston Bruins are in a bit of a mini-slump.
Thursday night's 2-0 loss at the hands of the Florida Panthers made it two straight games the Bruins skated off without a point in the standings. Boston has scored just one goal in those two contests, and had a flurry of shots that hit the bar Thursday night.
"We've done a pretty good job getting shots and scoring chances, but that's all they are if you don't get results," said Milan Lucic. "I think the main thing right now for us is we can't get down on ourselves, we can't get frustrated. We have to pick ourselves back up and start over again, and remember what got us those fourteen wins in fifteen games. That's what should be our focus right now and not let frustration creep into our game just because we've had trouble these last two games."

"It's frustrating a little bit but once again, I think we had a chance to win so I guess we'll think about it 'til midnight and move on," said forward Shawn Thornton.
"The chances we had were chances where we ended up being close or it was really those that we just either hopped over the stick, but you know that's the game," said defenseman Zdeno Chara. "Sometimes you won't get those breaks. Maybe we were getting earlier or in that winning streak, and now it seems like we are missing a little bit of the luck we had early on. When you hit four or five posts in the game it means, yeah it's close, but you aren't going to win a hockey game if they don't go in."
Boston had a golden opportunity to take an early 1-0 lead, when a Daniel Paille deflection nearly went by Florida's Jose Theodore. An early 1-0 lead would have helped, but the bottom line is the Bruins need to score.

"(It) makes it a little bit easier, but we still have to find a way to score a goal," said defenseman Johnny Boychuk. "We've scored one goal in two games. You've got to find ways to score and if you don't, your chance of winning isn't very good."
But the loss was much more than a few shots hitting the post.
"We were a little bit more frustrated with the fact that we weren't playing the game that we'd been accustomed to," said head coach Claude Julien. "It wasn't smooth passing, it wasn't the transition, break-outs, and even, in the offensive zone, there was a lot of over-passing."
The Bruins will move on and focus on Saturday's matchup with the Columbus Blue Jackets, who were just one of the B's victims during their points streak. They are going to make sure a pair of losses will not get in the way during the long NHL season.
"We need to put it behind us and focus for the next one. That's pretty much what it is right now. You can't be really getting too low or too high. Just get ready for the next one," said Chara.
