Bruins Lose to Penguins- Savard Injured
The Bruins lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in Mellon Arena, despite 31 saves by Tim Thomas. The B's led the game 1-0 after a power play goal by Blake Wheeler (14) in the 2nd period.
Pascal Dupuis (16) and Evgeni Malkin (23) scored the Pittsburgh goals. Sidney Crosby picked up his 40th assist of the season.
Marc Savard was taken off in a stretcher with 5:37 remaining in the 3rd period after suffering a hit to the head. Matt Cooke delivered an elbow following a Savard shot. Cooke did not get called for a penalty.
