Bruins Look To Write 'New Chapter' In Game 4
BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Bruins find themselves in an identical situation to last season, up 3-0 on the Philadelphia Flyers and just one win away from a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals.
But the Bruins are focusing on writing a new page in the history book, rather than dwell on one that they would like to rip out.
"We're trying to keep that out of mind," Brad Marchand said of last year's playoff collapse. "It's a brand new year and we have a new team here. Half the team is new guys, and it's a new season. We're not worried about that at all. We're writing our own new chapter."
Bruins Forgetting About Last Year's Playoffs
The Bruins get their first chance at authoring the new chapter Friday night in Game 4 at the garden. Right now, that is all they are focused on.
"We learned last year that the fourth win is the hardest," said Goalie Tim Thomas, who has stopped 120 of the 126 shots he's seen this series. "We've basically been trying to play it one game at a time, one period at a time, one shift at a time. We're going to try and play it the same way come Friday."
"We are glad we're in the position we are," Bruins captain Zdeno Chara said after the team's 5-1 Game 3 win. "But still, there is one more win we need to accomplish to move on. And that's where we're focused right now."

"We don't think about last year," coach Claude Julien said. "We think about this year and the one thing that is important for us is one game at a time. We've really focused that way. (Last night's) game is over; if anything you have to build on that. You have to know you have to be as good, if not better."
"Hopefully we just hit the reset buttons in our mind and the games before don't mean anything," Thomas added. "Hopefully we approach it like that."
"(I'm going to) prepare like I did every other game, it's going to be the same," forward Shawn Thornton said. "Try not to worry about what's gone on in the past or never look ahead. Just show up and prepare like it's Game 4, no matter what the series is at."

Until the Bruins get that fourth win, the talk will be about last year. As you can imagine, they are already sick of talking about the past.
"I talked about one year ago the first day of the series and you guys promised me I wouldn't have to talk about it again," Thornton told the media Wednesday night. "I talked about it enough, it's last year."
