Bruins' Kelly Suffers Knee Injury, Will Be Evaluated In Pittsburgh
BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Bruins center Chris Kelly will be evaluated in Pittsburgh on Tuesday after suffering a knee injury on Monday night in Ottawa.
Kelly did not return to Boston's 3-2 shootout win over the Senators after a knee-on-knee collision with Chris Neil in the second period. The B's center stayed down on the ice after the contact and kept his left leg elevated as he was was helped off by team trainer Don DelNegro.
Bruins head coach Claude Julien did not have an update on Kelly's condition following the shootout win, but did say he would travel with the team for Tuesday night's game in Pittsburgh.

The Bruins third-line center is having a down year offensively, with just two goals and four assists on the season, but losing Kelly would put a strain on Boston's depth.

Some questioned the hit by Neil, especially after he was boarded by B's defenseman Adam McQuaid in the first period on Monday. McQuaid was on the ice at the time of Kelly's injury, but no kneeing penalty was called and Julien said he felt it was "accidental" and had no issues with the contact.
