Bruins Horton Talks OT Winner, Game 6
BOSTON (CBS) – For Nathan Horton, his first season with the Bruins has given him a whole new look at hockey.
Since coming over from the Florida Panthers this off-season, Horton is now playing in front of sell-out crowds on a nightly basis. He's playing in a town where hockey matters. Most importantly, he's playing playoff hockey.
Horton scored the game-winning goal in double-overtime in the Bruins 2-1 win Saturday night in Game 5 against the Montreal Canadiens, giving them a 3-2 series lead.
For Horton, it was a moment he has been waiting for his entire career.
"You grow up playing and watching hockey, this is exactly what you dream of and it's pretty special," Horton said of the game-winner that kept him up until 4 am Saturday night. "I'm really enjoying it. I know it's only one game and we still have a long way to go but we'll take it. It was a big game for our team and a big win. We'll get right back at it on Tuesday."
Horton Talks Game 5 Winning Goal In Double Overtime
The Bruins have a chance to clinch the series Tuesday night in Montreal where they won two games to tie the series at 2-2. But with the Canadiens facing elimination, Horton knows winning Game 6 will not be easy.
"It's going to be a big game," said Horton, who has two goals in the first playoff series of his career. "It's another game as a player you want to play in. These are the toughest ones to win, when you have one more win to get. It's going to be an exciting game. I'm sure we'll be ready to play."

If the Bruins cannot take care of business Tuesday night, they have the luxury of a Game 7 in Boston on Wednesday. The Bruins did drop their first two home games of the series, something Horton attributes to a few of the younger Bruins and playoff novices (like himself) getting over excited to start the postseason. Now that the jitters are out-of-the-way, things should be a lot easier if they need to come home to finish off the series
"It's been great playing in front of our crowd, playing in front of Boston fans," said Horton. "I was saying it (Saturday) night after the game, it's pretty special to watch and to play in front of fans like this; that really enjoy hockey and make it exciting to come to the rink. That's why overtime is so easy to play, because our fans are they're backing us up."
