Bruins Hnidy Ready If He Gets Call In Game 3
BOSTON (CBS) - With Adam McQuaid day-to-day with a strained neck, there is a good chance the Bruins will go with veteran defenseman Shane Hnidy in Game 3 against the Flyers on Wednesday night.
If that is the case, "the sheriff" will be ready.
"The same as every other game," Hnidy said of his pregame preparation. "I prepare to play. You never know what's going to happen so my preparation doesn't change. I get ready for the game physically and mentally."

Hnidy has 38 playoff games under his belt, including 14 with the Bruins from 2007-2009.

"It helps, this is where experience really comes in handy," he said. "Having been in this situation before, I've played in and out of playoffs before. You have to stay sharp. You have to have a certain urgency but a calm at the same time."

Hnidy has only played in one game this postseason, but does not think he will try to do too much if he gets the chance Wednesday night.
"I know what my strengths need to be out there," said Hnidy. "If I'm trying to do too much, I'm making it harder on myself. It's about keeping the game simple, doing my job and playing strong."
