Bruins' Eriksson Out Indefinitely With Concussion
BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Bruins forward Loui Eriksson has been diagnosed with a concussion and is out indefinitely, general manager Peter Chiarelli announced on Thursday.
"Loui traveled back to Boston from Buffalo by plane today (October 24) with a member of the Bruins medical staff. After an examination by team doctors in Boston, he has been diagnosed with a concussion and will be out indefinitely," Chiarelli said in a statement. "The team will provide a further update on Loui's status when appropriate."
Eriksson was knocked out of Boston's 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night late in the third period by a blind-side elbow to the jaw by John Scott. He was helped off the ice by teammates and spent the night in a Buffalo hospital.

Scott has been suspended indefinitely until he has an in-person hearing on the matter, which has yet to be scheduled.
In his first season with the Bruins, Eriksson had two goals and an assist through the first eight games of the season. With Eriksson out, Brad Marchand will likely make his way back to Boston's second line, next to Patrice Bergeron and Reilly Smith.
