Bruins Embracing Game 7 Opportunity
BOSTON (CBS) – Perhaps it was the guidance of 21-year veteran Mark Recchi, but the Boston Bruins are a relaxed bunch heading in to Wednesday night's Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Recchi, with two Cup championships to his name, told his team to embrace the moments before and during the winner-take-all Game 7 against the Canucks in Vancouver.
"There is no pressure, go play, go out and have fun with this," Recchi said after the Bruins 5-2 Game 6 win."It's what you play for and what we've worked hard for all year. We're going to have a blast doing it. That will be the message."
The Bruins heard it loud and clear.
"He's right," said Patrice Bergeron, who centers Recchi on the Bruins second line. "We've obviously talked to him. He has all the experience in the world. Enjoy the moment and embrace it."
Bruins Emotions Heading In To Game 7
"It's a great opportunity. Game 7 of Stanley Cup finals is what you always dream about. You just want to go out there and put your best foot forward," said forward Rich Peverley "I think everyone is just cherishing the moment here. We have a great opportunity; they have a great opportunity also. We have to go out and play our best game if we want to win this thing."
"I think we are all pretty relaxed and excited," said Captain Zdeno Chara. "It's a great opportunity ahead of us, and we have to enjoy it."

On Tuesday Chara was not sure if he would address the team before the game, but will make a decision depending on the feeling in the locker room.
Tim Thomas On Game 7
One Bruin who looks like he is having the most fun is goalie Tim Thomas, who had a smile on his face the entire time during his Tuesday media availability.
"When we're in the garage or driveway playing as a kid and you're fantasizing," said Thomas. "Well, I was Stevie Yzerman, which doesn't make sense for a goalie, but you're saying to yourself, Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals, you're not saying Game 6, you know?"

"So this is really, you know, what every kid dreams about," said Thomas.
"It is a journey, it is a grind and it all comes down to one game," said Bergeron. "But you have to enjoy (it). Iit's been a lot of fun."
