Bruins' David Pastrnak Out For Third Straight Game Against Blues

BOSTON (CBS) -- Bruins winger David Pastrnak will miss his third straight game on Tuesday night, as the Boston Bruins take on David Backes' former team, the St. Louis Blues, at TD Garden.

Pastrnak has sat out the last two games with an undisclosed injury. He is "progressing" but is not ready to play on Tuesday night and remains day-to-day, head coach Claude Julien told reporters after the morning skate. He was on the ice with the Bruins during Tuesday's morning skate at the Warrior Ice Arena, but Riley Nash skated on a line with Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron.

Pastrnak's presence on the ice at Tuesday's morning skate does indicate that he is close to returning. The Bruins head to Ottawa to play the Senators on Thanksgiving night before returning to Boston for a Friday night tilt against the Calgary Flames.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a breakout season, with 10 goals in 14 games to put him sixth in the NHL in that category entering Tuesday's action. The Bruins sorely missed his scoring touch in last Thursday's 1-0 loss against the Minnesota Wild but lit the lamp four times in a dominant win over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.
