Bruins Clinch Playoff Spot
The Bruins beat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2 this afternoon, clinching a playoff birth in the process. Following a scoreless 1st period the B's scored 3 shorthanded goals on the same penalty kill in a 1:04 span. Goals from Daniel Paille, Blake Wheeler, and Steve Begin put Boston up 3-0, but the Canes responded with a pair of goals later in the 2nd. Milan Lucic added an empty net goal to cap off the win.
If Montreal loses to Toronto the B's will be the 6 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
