Bergeron Will Travel To Carolina, But Won't Play vs. Hurricanes
BOSTON (CBS) - Patrice Bergeron was on the ice again for the Boston Bruins on Friday, and the injured center will make the trip to Carolina for Saturday night's game against the Hurricanes.
He just won't be lacing up his skates for the tilt.
Bruins head coach Claude Julien told reporters at Friday's practice that Bergeron, recovering from a concussion he suffered on April 2, will travel with the team this weekend after he made his return to the ice this week.
"He's skating now and he's better off working out with us rather than staying behind," Julien said before adding Bergeron wouldn't play against the Canes.
"We're certainly going to be cautious with him," added Julien. "He's had a history of [concussions] and we're not about to take a gamble with him at this stage of the season."

So far, Bergeron has missed five games with Boston going 3-2 in that stretch.
This is Bergeron's fourth concussion since 2007, so expect the Bruins to take every precaution possible with their second-leading point scorer. But having him back in the ice and traveling with the team is a good sign he's on his way to returning to game action.
