Bruins Begin Road Trip with 3-2 Win
The Bruins beat the New York Islanders 3-2 this afternoon, the first of seven straight games away from the Garden. Tim Thomas, starting for the second consecutive game, made 37 saves in the Boston net.
Milan Lucic (6) put the B's on the board first taking a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. Islanders' center Josh Bailey tied the score in the 2nd, but Boston responded with goals from David Krejci (12) and Marc Savard (10) in the same period.
Matt Moulson scored his team-leading 23rd goal in the 3rd period to cut the Bruins' lead to 1, but Thomas and the B's were able to hang on for their 2nd straight win.
