Brown On Debate: I'll Pick Up Warren If Hurricane Sandy Hits
BOSTON (CBS) - Hurricane Sandy comes at a crucial time before the election.
The storm has the potential to smother the actual peak of not just the Senate race but the Presidential race.
The storm has already scrubbed a campaign trip by Obama campaign surrogate Governor Deval Patrick.
"I was planning to be in Florida for the day on Sunday, I've cancelled that trip," Governor Patrick told reporters at a pre-storm briefing Friday.
Mitt Romney has cancelled a Sunday night rally in Virginia.
First Lady Michelle Obama has cancelled an event at the University of New Hampshire Tuesday.
And what about the red hot U.S. Senate race? The final debate between Senator Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren is still on for Tuesday night in Boston.
Senator Brown says don't worry, he'll make it, hurricane or not.
"That's why I have a truck," says Senator Brown. "You know it has four wheel drive, if she needs a ride, I'm happy to pick her up, and I'll be there providing the electricity is on."
The Warren campaign says they're still ready to go as well.
Governor Patrick has Obama campaign stops scheduled for the Midwest and west coast on Wednesday and Thursday, and says he'll make a decision on those when he sees how the storm unfolds.
