Brookline Police Seek Jogger Who Allegedly Sexually Assaulted Woman
BROOKLINE (CBS) -- Brookline police are looking for a jogger who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman Wednesday night.
Officers said the woman, who is in her 20s, was walking in a primarily residential section of Beacon Street near Kent Street at 10:30 p.m.
She reported the man was jogging behind her for a block starting at Carlton Street. At Hawes Street, he stopped and covered his face as she walked by. Shortly after, he came up behind her and groped her, police say.
Officers said she yelled, scaring him and he ran down Kent Street.
"The victim did everything right. She screamed and called for help right away," said Lt. Philip Harrington.
The attacker is described as a six-foot-tall white man, 20-to-40 years old, with long blonde hair.
Police have stepped up patrols. They initially thought the assault could be related to assaults in the area last year, but they have determined the cases are unrelated.
