Brookline man charged with being a spy
A Brookline man who works in Cambridge is under arrest on charges he's a spy.
The federal government says Elliot Doxer, 42, offered to sell company secrets to a foreign country for $3,000.
Doxer is an employee of Akami Technologies, a web content provider.
Authorities say Doxer was providing information for 18 months to someone he thought was an agent with another government.
Officials will not say which country they allege Doxer was selling secrets.
They did say the foreign government cooperated with the United States in the investigation.
Prosecutors say Doxer was providing lists of customers, contract information, and Akami employee information.
Doxer faces 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
