Broncos Lose, Giving Patriots Shot At Top Seed In AFC
BOSTON (CBS) - The top seed in the AFC is within the reach of the New England Patriots, thanks to the San Diego Chargers.
The Chargers beat the Denver Broncos 27-20 on Thursday night, dropping Denver to 11-3 on the season.
The Patriots sit just a half game back at 10-3, and if they win all three of their remaining games, will clinch the top seed in the conference. The Patriots own the tiebreaker over the Broncos because of their 34-31 overtime win over Denver in Foxboro last month.

The road isn't easy for the Patriots, with road games in Miami and Baltimore over the next two weeks before they finish the season with the Buffalo Bills at home.
But now, the Patriots have some added motivation with the road to the Super Bowl potentially going through Gillette Stadium.
