Man Rescued From Burning Building In Brockton
BROCKTON (CBS)- Firefighters rescued an elderly man from the third floor of a burning apartment building in Brockton Tuesday afternoon.
Someone walking by noticed flames coming from the building on Oak Street and called firefighters.
The 82-year-old man was taken down a ladder from the third floor porch. He is badly burned but still alive.
"This was a dramatic rescue under severe fire conditions," said Brockton Fire Dep. Chief Charles Davis. "The fire was blowing out of that apartment and they made entry and pulled him out."
Davis has a son on the fire department who carried the elderly man to safety and is one of several firefighters with minor injuries.
Five firefighters were injured during the rescue and one is being treated at a hospital.
