Brockton Man Charged With Murder In Hit-And-Run

BROCKTON (AP) — A Brockton man is facing an upgraded charge of murder in the hit-and-run death of another man prosecutors have said may have been his romantic rival.

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said 36-year-old Dana Waller was arrested Monday in Boston after a new indictment that also charges him with leaving the scene after causing death. He is being arraigned Tuesday in the May 3 death of 37-year-old Edward Dill III of Brockton.

Waller pleaded not guilty last month to charges of manslaughter, motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene after causing personal injury or death.

Prosecutors said then that witnesses reported seeing Waller run over Dill three times in a driveway. They said witnesses told investigators the two men may have been involved with the same woman. Waller's lawyer said witnesses had told inconsistent stories.
