Brockton Homeowner Charged In Connection With Toddler Pool Death
BROCKTON (CBS) – Charges have been filed against a Brockton homeowner in connection with the drowning death of a toddler last month.
Two-year-old Yandeliz Claudio wandered over to a small above-ground pool two doors down from her home on South Leydon Street on July 22.
She was later pulled from the water, not breathing. She was rushed to the hospital where she died.
Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz announced charges against the pool owner, Jacqueline Berganza, Thursday.
Berganza, 38, is charged with violating two city ordinances for not having a fence around her pool and for not having a permit to construct the pool on her property.
