Brighter Days On The Way

Today is going to be a near repeat performance of the past handful of days...clouds, showers, fog, mist and drizzle. There may actually be some bright spots in the sky from time to time this afternoon. Highs are going to be slightly warmer in the upper 50s...upper 60s Cape/Islands.

Watch Melissa's forecast:

Friday is showing even more promise for a few bright spots in the sky and potentially a peek or two of sunshine.  However, there will still be on and off showers. Highs will climb slightly again as the mercury tops off between 60-65F.  The upper level low shows signs of weakening on Friday and Friday night as it moves at a snail's pace to the east.

This Weekend:  The upper level low continues to weaken and make its slow progression to the east. This will provide a cloud/sun mix on Saturday with a few showers/storms developing in the afternoon due to a backdoor cold front. Highs will be warm near 70F...cooler coast.  Sunday will be partly *sunny* with cooler high temperatures in the lower 60s.  The surface high and upper level ridge responsible for the sun will be short-lived though.

The pattern next week is showing up differently amongst the GFSx and the EURO.  They both depict warmer temperatures as a warm front pushes northward Monday.  The timing of a cold front is still in question though. I have kept a chance of morning showers Monday as the warm front travels northward.  Then, I introduced afternoon showers and storms on Tuesday as a cold front approaches and stalls to our south.  We'll keep analyzing the new model runs.

Melissa :)
