Bridgewater State Student Allegedly Threatened To "Kill People"

BRIDGEWATER (CBS) - A student at Bridgewater State University was spending the weekend behind bars after police say he threatened to bring an AK-47 assault rifle to the school and kill people on campus.

Campus police say the student, whom they did not identify, also threatened to make a "nail bomb" with the same intention of harming others on campus.

Officers tracked down the student on campus and arrested him as soon as they became aware of the alleged threats.

Police did not find any guns, bombs, or bomb-making materials on him, but they did recover a military-style knife in his dorm room.

He was being held without bail at least until Monday, when a dangerousness hearing was scheduled.
