Bridgewater Bridge Dedicated To US Marine Killed In Afghanistan
BRIDGEWATER (AP) — A Bridgewater bridge was dedicated to the memory of a U.S. Marine killed in Afghanistan.
The ceremony on Sunday. at the Broad Street Bridge honored Marine Lance Corporal Kevin T. Preach.
The Defense Department said the 21-year-old died of wounds suffered Jan. 24 in Farah province, Afghanistan in 2009.
State Sen. Marc Pacheco said the goal of the ceremony is to pay tribute to the sacrifice Preach and his family have made for the country.
Preach was the first Bridgewater soldier killed in action since Vietnam.
