Breer On Toucher & Rich: Defensively Seahawks Are Legit
The Patriots are headed to the West Coast on Friday for their Sunday afternoon game against the Seattle Seahawks. How do the Patriots match up with this Seattle defense?
NFL Network's Bert Breer joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich to discuss what we need to know about the Seahawks, interesting match ups and what team in the league has underperformed.
The guys started off looking at the Seattle offense up against this Patriots defense, will Seattle be able to run the ball?
"Well I think this is classic, classic Bill Belichick in that you're going to see them try to put the ball in Russell Wilson's hand and that's what New England does. Whether you see that as a good or bad thing, we'll see. It's going to depend on how good a job the secondary can do in handling Golden Tate and Sidney Rice and how well they can get after Russell Wilson. I would expect that they're going to do everything in their power to shutdown Marshawn Lynch and try to force that Seattle defense to spend more time on the field."
Breer believes that the Pats can hold the Seattle offense to 17 or 20 points, but the real issue will be their defense.
"Defensively they're legit though and there's going to be some really interesting match ups within this one. I look at their secondary and they've got bigger corners who can beat up smaller receivers."
