Brandon Spikes Tweets About His Surgery

BOSTON (CBS) -- Brandon Spikes was limited to just eight regular-season games this year but was able to return for the regular-season finale and the three playoff games. Despite that healthy return, the 24-year-old required surgery on Tuesday.

Spikes made the announcement himself via Twitter.

"Surgery this am!!!! Y'all pray 4 me please," he wrote.

While he didn't specify the reason for the surgery, the injury that limited him this past season was a strained MCL in his knee. He made 47 tackles in the regular season before recording 26 tackles in the playoffs, including 11 in the Super Bowl.
