Brandon Lloyd Excited For New Start With Patriots
FOXBORO (CBS) - Sure it is only preseason, but Thursday night will be wide receiver Brandon Lloyd's first game as a member of the New England Patriots.
"It's very exciting. It's always good to get a new start," Lloyd told Dan Roche for WBZ-TV's Patriots Pregame Special -- set to air Thursday night at 7p.m. "Hopefully this start is the beginning of something good, and that's the reason I'm here; to come here and help this organization get back to where they want to be."
Lloyd On Joining Patriots:
For the last two seasons, Lloyd has been a steady playmaker in the NFL with 147 catches and 16 touchdowns for the Broncos and Rams. He'll now join receiver Wes Welker and tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez to form an exciting collection of offensive weapons for quarterback Tom Brady.

But now in his 10th season, the one thing that has alluded him during his career is the playoffs. Lloyd doesn't have a single postseason game under his belt, which he is hoping to change now that he is in New England.
When asked what comes to mind about the Patriots, Lloyd had no hesitation.
"Championships. Consistency. Consistent, dominant players," he said. "Those are the things I would see from afar and as a player, with pride, always hoped I had what it took to be here and be one of these players. Being here I'm just going to do my best to carry on that championship attitude; be consistent and make the plays when my number is called."
See all of Dan Roche's 1-on-1 with Brandon Lloyd Thursday night at 7pm on WBZ-TV's Patriots Pregame. The Pats and Saints kick off at 7:30, followed by Patriots Fifth Quarter with all the postgame reaction and analysis.
