Braintree Man Wanted For Fleeing State With 3-Year-Old Son
BRAINTREE (CBS) - Braintree police are searching for a man who allegedly assaulted a person and then fled the state with his three-year-old son.
Raisul Kalam, 41, of Braintree, is accused of assaulting someone he knew on Friday morning before leaving the state with his son. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
Investigators have tracked Kalam to a Boston bus terminal at South Station where he and his son are believed to have taken a bus to New York. They arrived in Lower Manhattan around 9 p.m. Friday.
Massachusetts State Police, the District Attorney's Office and law enforcement agencies in New York have assisted Braintree police with their investigation.
"We are appealing to the public for information to help us ascertain Kalam's whereabouts and to assure the well being and safety of the minor child," Braintree Police Chief Russell Jenkins said in a press statement.
