Brady, Welker Missing From Patriots Practice
FOXBORO (CBS) - The Patriots were without some notable players during the media portion of their first practice of this bye week.
No Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Sebastian Vollmer, Logan Mankins or Marcus Cannon as the Pats got in some time in on the practice field on Wednesday.

Some of the players, like Brady and Welker, I am sure are just getting some down time after a long and grueling season. Mankins and Vollmer are both trying to come back from injuries, although it is more likely we see Mankins lining up in front of #12 than it is Vollmer, who has missed most of the season with a bad back.
It is FREEZING out there today but the Pats are putting in the time.
Roster Moves
The Pats announced a pair of roster moves Wednesday, as the team has signed WR Britt Davis to the practice squad and release TE Garrett Mills.
Davis is a first-year player from Northern Illinois. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jets in 2009, where he stayed until he was released after training camp in 2010. He then signed with Denver where he began the 2010 season on the practice squad. He was signed to the 53-man roster in December 2010 and played in three games for the Broncos, but was release at the end of training camp this past summer.

Mills was originally drafted by the Patriots in the fourth-round of the 2006 NFL Draft but spent the majority of his rookie season on the injured reserve list. A five-year veteran, Mills has five NFL seasons under his belt with New England (2006), Minnesota (2007-09), Philadelphia (2010) and Cincinnati (2010).
He joined the New England practice squad on September 14.
