Brady Says NFL Lawsuit Not Hurting Relationship With Kraft
BOSTON (CBS) - Even though his name is front and center on a lawsuit against NFL owners, Tom Brady says it has not had a negative effect on his relationship with Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
"I think out relationship is much deeper than that," Brady told CNBC's Darren Rovell on Friday. "And I don't think it's Tom Brady suing Robert Kraft. I'm a player and I represent the 1500 players we have, past players and future players. He's been an owner a long time and he understands what the business of football is as well. It's certainly not personal, he was at my wedding. We have a great relationship. We always have and I'm sure that will continue."
Brady was in New York Friday to talk about his new sponsorship with Under Armor, but could not escape talk about the current NFL labor situation. League activity resumed Friday after a judge in Minneapolis ruled the NFL's lockout was illegal earlier this week. Players are now allowed to attend off-season workouts and meetings at their team's facilities.
"From the players' standpoint, I think everybody is pleased that we're not locked out anymore," Brady said. "Especially the incoming rookies who now have an opportunity to meet with the coaches, their ownership, and start to understand what it's going to take for them to be NFL players. The veterans have some understanding what it's going to take the next three months. It's been a big week, a big six weeks for the NFL and hopefully things are moving in the right direction."

In his Q&A session with fans, Brady was happy the Patriots selected offensive lineman Nate Solder with the 17th pick in the NFL Draft on Thursday night.
"That always makes a QB happy," Brady said of the Patriots drafting the 6-foot-8 lineman to protect his blindside in the future.

However, Brady would like to see free agent offensive lineman Matt Light stick around as well.
"There's no one I'd rather have than Matt Light," Brady said of the lineman that has protected him for 11 seasons.
Of course, there are always questions about Brady's hair, which the quarterback said he has no intentions of cutting.
"I get that question a lot more than I get the labor questions," Brady joked. "As long as my mom likes it and my wife likes it, I'm cool. My teammates give me quiet a lot of grief. It's a lot easier when it's short."
"When it gets hot in the summer time, who knows what will happen."
