Brady On Missed Opportunities: 'That's Why We Lose Games'
BOSTON (CBS) -- Tom Brady and the Patriots' offense were unable to put together a miraculous game-winning drive in the final minute, but the quarterback said it was a list of missed opportunities that led to the Patriots' 24-23 loss to the Seahawks.
Brady threw for 395 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw two interceptions and was penalized for intentional grounding before halftime, which ran 10 seconds off the clock and took away the opportunity for an easy field goal.
"That's why we lose games, because we squander opportunities to score points," Brady said after the loss. "I think we've just got to do a better job when it counts."
On the intentional grounding penalty, Brady admitted he made a mistake and should have thrown the ball at least near a receiver.
"They trust me to be smart with the ball to get three at worst. I just made a bad play," Brady said.
Despite the cold, rainy conditions, Brady didn't use the whether as an excuse.
"We made some plays at the end of the game last week [against Denver] to do it, we just didn't do it this week," Brady said. "We're 3-3. Obviously it's not a very good record. We've kind of played some tough games on the road, we've showed a lot of toughness. We just need to execute better. I think that's what it comes down to."
