Brady On Broncos: "We Know Them Better Than Any Other Team"
FOXBORO (CBS) - Tom Brady knows the Denver Broncos very well.
Back in December, Brady and the New England Patriots beat the Broncos 41-23, sending Denver on an 0-3 tailspin to end the season.
Despite their finish, the Broncos made the playoffs as the AFC West winners at 8-8 and actually defeated their first round opponent in the Steelers on Sunday.
Denver's Wild Card Weekend win takes them to Foxboro on Saturday night against the No. 1 seed Patriots for a big rematch.
"We played them. They're a tough team. I mean, we played 'em four weeks ago. We know them better than any other team in the league," Brady said on Tuesday.
Even though the Pats beat the Broncos by double digits on Dec. 18, Brady says his team had a lot to work on after the win.
"We had quite a few missed opportunities. We weren't particularly good in the red area. We weren't great on third down. We missed plenty of throws. So, we need to do a better job of that. Every play is so important this time of year that you feel like you need to execute the best we have," said Brady.
As a team, the Patriots have missed quite a few opportunities the past few years in the playoffs, having not won a postseason game since the AFC Championship Game after the 2007 season.
Despite recent playoff heartbreak, Brady is still focused solely on Saturday's game.
"I haven't thought about what happened last year or last week," Brady said. "What matters most is how we execute, our level of preparation going up against a good team."
