Brady Improvises
BOSTON (CBS) -- Tom Brady is not known as a quarterback who improvises a ton on the field.
Number 12 goes through his reads and hits the open receiver and does it quickly. That's not to say that Tom can't improvise. He did so on Thanksgiving Day. It was the play that resulted in a 79 yard touchdown pass to Deion Branch and Deion was not the primary target.
Belichick praised Tom for his out-of-the-box thinking. He told that to the Chicago Tribune's Dan Pompei. "Most quarterbacks, if the pattern is open, they should be able to throw it in there and hit it," Belichick tells Pompei. "It's the ones who can make something out of nothing — making a great read, a great throw, a great decision when the play breaks down, if you make a mistake in protection, or the defense makes a mistake ... He's made a bunch of plays like that for us this year."
