Brad Stevens: Belichick Great At Big Game Preparation
BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Adam Jones and Rich Keefe, filling in for Gresh & Zolak, Monday afternoon to talk about the Patriots prepping for the Super Bowl.
Stevens spoke about the difficulties of dealing with major distractions while also prepping for a huge game -- in the Patriots' case the biggest game of the year.
"I don't think there's one piece of advice that somebody should give or is a blanket way of doing things. You have to compartmentalize everything, and [Belichick] is great at it," said Stevens.

The second-year Celtics coach hasn't been a part of any playoff games for the C's, but his tenure at Butler certainly gave him experience under the limelight. In his third year coaching at Butler, Stevens took the Bulldogs to its first Final Four in school history in 2010 and again in 2011. The 2010 Final Four in Indianapolis was nearly a home game for the Bulldogs, which added extra buzz for the young coach and his team.
"Think about if the Super Bowl was six miles away from your campus. I soon realized to coach effectively, I was going to have to do my work from home that week," said Stevens.
Stevens also spoke about keeping his players focused on the game at hand, but he also wanted to let his team enjoy the overall experience of playing in such a big game. The Patriots are battle-tested to say the least, making it to the AFC championship or Super Bowl in each of the last four seasons.

"You can learn a lot as a coach from studying football and all the management and organization that it takes to get a group going," said Stevens.
The Celtics are currently 15-27 and play the Utah Jazz tonight in Utah at 9pm Eastern Time.
