Brad Marchand, Dennis Seidenberg Game-Time Decisions Against Rangers
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Bruins will take the ice at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night for the only time this season, as they look to improve to 3-0 and drop the Rangers to 0-3. However, they may be doing so without two key players.
Coach Claude Julien said during the morning skate at MSG that Brad Marchand and Dennis Seidenberg will be game-time decisions for the game, adding that he's hopeful both will be able to play.
Seidenberg missed Monday afternoon's home matchup with the Jets due to a lower-body injury, though Julien indicated after that 2-1 shootout win that he didn't expect Seidenberg to have a lengthy absence.
"We're very, very hopeful that he'll be in next game," Julien said Monday afternoon. "This is a situation, early in the season you want to sacrifice one game so that it doesn't become a two-week situation. We're just getting going here, it's such a condensed schedule that sometimes if you take those chances, you'll make it worse than better. We took a precaution and we were willing to live without him today. Hopefully, that's all it's going to be."
Marchand scored in Monday's game and finished with 18:25 of ice time.
Both Seidenberg and Marchand participated in Wednesday morning's optional skate.
If Marchand were to be unable to play, it's likely veteran forward Jay Pandolfo would fill in for him. Aaron Johnson took Seidenberg's place on Monday and would likely do so again.
