BPD Releases New Pics Of Man Wanted For Questioning In Beacon Hill Sex Assaults
BOSTON (CBS)- Boston Police have released new video of a man wanted for questioning in connection with a sexual assault on Beacon Hill.
At about 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, officers responded to a call for a sexual assault in the area of Anderson Street. Police say according to the victim, the suspect approached her from behind and groped her. She yelled for help and the suspect fled along Anderson Street toward Phillips Street.
He's described as a white male in his early 20's about 5'8" in height, thin build, and wearing a hat. The video shows the suspect looking right into a surveillance camera installed in a peep hole on the front of an apartment building.
"This is lucky we did have it," said Meghan McPartlin referring to the camera. "Otherwise I'm not sure anyone would be able to identify him."
There were two other similar assaults in the area last week and police say the suspect fits the same description. "I think they think it's the same guy," said resident Madeline Sullivan. "I hope it's one guy and I hope they get him."
Residents admit they've been taking more precautions such as carrying whistles and pepper spray and being more aware of their surroundings. Police hope the video is clear enough that someone recognizes the man before he finds another victim.
"It definitely seems like the neighborhood is paying attention to this," said resident Kim Brundage.
