Boyfriend Arrested In Killing Of Dorchester Woman
BOSTON (AP) -- A 22-year-old Boston man faces murder charges after the discovery of a woman's body in the Dorchester neighborhood.
Police arrested Junior Fernandes on Sunday and charged him in the apparent shooting death of 21-year-old Alissa Castellon.
Boston police said officers found Castellon early Sunday morning after responding to a report of a shooting on Granger Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members told the Boston Herald that Castellon had been living in Brockton and was studying criminal justice at Bunker Hill Community College. They said she had been dating the suspect for about six months.
In addition to murder, police say Fernandes faces charges of unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition.
The Suffolk District Attorney's office says Fernandes was ordered held without bail after his arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
