Bourne Selectman Accused Of Assaulting Girlfriend Resigns

BOURNE (CBS) – A Bourne selectman facing charges for attacking his girlfriend has resigned.

Michael Blanton was arrested last week, accused of assaulting the woman and threatening her with a baseball bat.

He wrote a letter to the Bourne Board of Selectmen, saying his resignation is effective immediately.

Blanton is being held without bail and is set to appear next in court on March 27.
