Boston's Logan Airport Sets 2013 Passenger Record
BOSTON (AP) — Boston's Logan International Airport has set another passenger record.
Massachusetts Port Authority officials say they are preparing to celebrate more than 29.6 million passengers passing through the airport this year. New England's largest airport handled 29.3 million travelers last year.
Massport projects that its 29.6 million traveler would be on Southwest Airlines Flight 5700 scheduled to leave Boston for Ft. Myers on Friday at 10:15 a.m.
Massport 's website indicates that domestic travel accounted for most of the passenger growth during the year ending in November, with an extra 656,400 travelers passing through the airport this year when compared to last year.
International travel saw an increase of nearly 138,900 passengers over last year.
The airport saw a 2.5 percent increase in domestic flights, while international flights fell by 0.3 percent in the year ending in November.
