For an historic activity Memorial Day weekend, take a motor-coach tour on Saturday, May 24, at 9:30 a.m. for $45 for adults and $28 for children ages three to 12 (children under three ride free). The tours are approximately 3.5 hours long and honor the first fallen protectors of our country. What better way to spend the weekend than with a visit to the USS Constitution Museum to honor the men and women who served in the nation's military. The museum is hosting an event May 24th to May 26th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. called Remembering Our Heroes - Memorial Day Weekend. You can learn how to march like an 1812 Marine, fire a salute with miniature, homemade cannons and deliver toasts to those who have served. In addition, there will be other patriotic-themed crafts and activities throughout the weekend.

Spring into color at the MFA. It is hosting a Memorial Day Open House on Monday, May 26th from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Admission is free and the exhibit theme is "Season of Color in the Americas." The museum will offer dancing to Latin American music in the Shapiro Family Courtyard and there will be the opportunity to make art and music or watch a technicolor film. Also, there will be tours of the galleries and artwork with a focus on Latin American culture.

There will be plenty of parades in nearly every town in Massachusetts including the 2014 City of Somerville Memorial Day Parade. Sunday, May 25th at 1 p.m., event goers will gather in front of City Hall and all along the route. The parade will travel up Highland Street to Davis Square, and then along Holland Street to Broadway. The end of the parade is in front of the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery on Broadway near the Alewife Brook Parkway. The parade includes 76 organizations with both annual participants and newcomers involved with the event.

For an unforgettable experience and the chance to take plenty of pictures and have a very memorable experience, head to the Memorial Day 2014 Flag Garden in Boston Common, the oldest park in the country. The Mass. Military Heroes' annual event features a flag garden of 37,000 flags displayed all weekend. Each of the flags planted at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument represents every brave Massachusetts service member who gave his or her life defending the country, since the Revolutionary War.
